Dear readers,
This is the ending of my Brave Hearts comic! Below are the links to Parts I and II in case you missed them. Let me know how you liked this autobiographical story and its ending in the comments below. Thank you for reading!
Trigger warning: The following comic discusses events happening during the Croatian War of Independence and might be triggering for some people. The following pages do not contain any explicit violence.
Thank you all for reading and accompanying me on this journey. My grandma’s story ends here, but for many people around the world, the unspeakable violence continues. I dedicate this story to the people of Gaza, who continue to be brutally attacked by Israel.
It is infuriating we learned nothing from past conflicts, and I would say there is no hope for humanity if it wasn’t for my grandma and my family, who showed me the strength of resilience and hope in the face of war. Human bodies can be killed, but our humanity never dies. Let us fight against war in any way we can. Share our stories, speak up, and don’t be afraid to point a finger at murderers.
With hope for a better future,
Ana
Wonderful way to tell a story we all need to be reminded of, thank you. I especially love the way you used the blackout visual effect!
Thank you for buoying my hopes that humankind will evolve beyond the fear, greed and anger that lead people to war with each other.
