Dear readers,
Two new pages (6 and 7) of Brave Hearts are here! This completes Act 1 of this story, so I decided to put all the existing pages together as Part I (out of III). I also made some small (imperceptible) changes to previous pages, so this way you can read everything again in a continuous way, if you want to, or you can scroll to page 6 directly to continue where you left off.
Trigger warning: The following comic discusses events happening during the Croatian War of Independence and might be triggering for some people. The following pages do not contain any explicit violence.
My grandma had an exceptionally hard life, even for the time and place she lived in. Not only did she live through two major wars, but she was also an orphan, and she had never met her biological mother. However, she was raised by her loving aunt and uncle, and she knew how to love others more than anyone I have ever met. She told me once “Orphans know how to love better than anyone else”.
I’m really excited to show you the rest of this story. It is emotional and sad (also sweet), but it is the good kind of sad, the kind that makes you think about meaning and people we care about. And especially now that the necessity of wars is finally being questioned in the public opinion, I believe stories like these are more important than ever. Wars have never been a necessity and whoever thinks they are is a part of the reason we still have them.
Thank you for reading, if you like Brave Hearts, click like, comment, and share it with your friends :)
Until next time,
Ana
Brave Hearts: Part II
Dear readers, New pages are here and I thought it was a good time to put pages 7 to 14 together in Part II. We are nearing the end of Act 2, but I couldn’t wait any longer to publish this because the page I just finished drawing is a great scene to end an episode with. You will see what I mean! :)
Brave Hearts: Part III
Dear readers, This is the ending of my Brave Hearts comic! Below are the links to Parts I and II in case you missed them. Let me know how you liked this autobiographical story and its ending in the comments below. Thank you for reading! Trigger warning:
Your vulnerability with us just knocks my socks off… THANK YOU for sharing your heart and your neurospicy-ness and your family’s story in such an approachable way. I look forward to every new post.
I love your stories!
