Dear readers,
While you are waiting for new pages of my comic Bleeding hearts (I’ve given myself an ADHD mouthful with that one), I have some news to share with you. The first piece of news is my new job and the second one is my interview! Read on to see both.
In my new job as a postdoctoral researcher at Tilburg University, I will finally work with comics AND linguistics! Next month I will be joining the Visual Language lab at the Department of Communication and Cognition. You can see the topics I will be working on here (told in comics of course!): https://www.visuallanguagelab.com
And to relate this to my mental health content, I guess there is hope after all for all of us who can ONLY work in areas we are deeply passionate about, and for ADHDers among us who keep hoarding new hobbies.
Interview
I made an appearance in an interview with MakeStoryboard, talking about my comics, linguistic research, and my creative process. I talk about why I create comics and how they help me process life experiences, as well as how science and art together help me make sense of reality.
It still feels very weird seeing and hearing myself talk, but I’m really proud I did it because now I can share it with you! I made this interview way before I got the comics+linguistics job, so it’s interesting to see how I was undeniably headed there anyway. Click below to watch it or here.
Thank you for reading!
