I was inspired by the success of my last post about ADHD on Medium and here I am, writing about ADHD again, this time with a more positive spin. I hope that “Owning ADHD and Coping With It: In Comics” can encourage us to accept certain aspects of the chaotic ADHD lifestyle, while treating other more harmful ones. Theme 1. Only production and achievement can motivate ADHDers.
I have recently realized that ADHD makes me have one very peculiar characteristic: I only consume media/products that I also want to make myself. This doesn’t mean I actually end up making these things, but the wish to do so is what drives my consumption. Why? Simply because producing something is way more exciting than consuming. Theme 2. Our enthusiasm is easily gained and easily lost.
When you have ADHD, one obsession gets easily substituted with another:
